I am an analytical and practical person. I read a wide range of topics and have a main interest in history and technology. With three decades of experience working with start-ups and in operations, I have an appreciation and better than average understanding on how technology has changed businesses and how its going to continue to change businesses.
Things I Can Do
I have over 30 years of work experience in various industries, with the past 10 years being in Business Development and Operations. I have also taken on various Business Consultant roles and have often been embedded in the companies that I consult with, to assist them in getting their businesses started or sorted.
I have an outgoing personality and have no problems delivering a presentation to a large group. I socialise easily and enjoy meeting new people. I have a curious streak and would often read and research an industry just to know what it is all about. I love to read and have an eclectic taste in genres. Professionally, I have worked for several multi-national companies and have travelled to many countries around this region as well as to USA and Europe for work. I was based in Sydney, Australia for two years in 2007 & 2008 to help transition an acquired company. Over the years I have developed a network of contacts within the ASEAN countries that can help provide me with cultural and local insights that is very helpful in my line work. Business Intelligence & Insights is not just about facts and figures but also how local customs and traditions can affect business models, trends and patterns.
A Few Accomplishments
I have assisted a company from being a start-up to its acquisition by a NASDAQ listed company, by building a network affiliate business model, in the late 1990s. In the 2000s I helped a multi-national company to expand its business in APAC particularly in South Asia. I was also tasked with integrating an acquired company in Australia to the rest of the global network. In the 2010s I ran a consulting company that provided Business Intelligence and Insights into developing markets as well as new disruptive technologies and business models. I am currently still in this line of work.
